Photographer: Alan Hillen (Northern Ireland)
Title: "Blessed"
Shooting location: Ards Camera Club, Newtownards
Camera: Nikon D850
Lens: Tokina AT-X M100 PRO D Macro (100mm f/2.8)

Photographer's comments:

"The image was taken as part of a series of portrait shots in my camera club. I always start with base settings ISO100 f/5.6 and usually 1/125 sec. This eliminates all the natural lighting in the room and allows you to take control of the lighting you are going to use. I knew I wanted a darker moody shot so I increased the shutter speed to give me the desired effect. I have 3 lenses I can use for shooting portraits, Nikon 50mm and 85mm and my Tokina AT-X M100 PRO D Macro (100mm f/2.8). I can't explain what it is but I always end up using the Tokina 100mm Normally used for macro studies (which it is amazingly good for) I find it perfect for portrait work. I am a keen all round amateur photographer and more images can be seen at Alan Hillen photography on Facebook."
